China and Laos promise to increase their cooperation in security and law enforcement.
On Thursday, Lao Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Public Security Police Gen. Vilay Lakhamphong met with Chinese State Councilor and Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong to discuss enhancing cooperation between law enforcement and security.
Wang stated that China is ready to collaborate with Laos to implement the significant agreement reached by the top leaders of the two parties and nations, continuously deepen cooperation on preserving political security, put an end to transnational criminal activity, bolster the security of the China-Laos Railway, and support the development of law enforcement capacity.
In order to better serve the interests of the two nations and their respective populations, Wang said that China will consistently raise the standard and efficacy of its law enforcement and security cooperation with Laos. In addition, China would advance efforts to build a China-Laos community with a shared future.
Vilay underlined his willingness to develop a Laos-China community with a shared future and to further up law enforcement and security cooperation with China.
