Tibetans Commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Tiananmen Square Massacre Rally in Manchester

London: The Tibetan community supported a rally in St Peter’s Square, Manchester, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre on 4 June 2024.

The event brought together groups from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Georgia, the Uighur community, and Ukraine, each united in their stand against tyranny and aggression.

Representatives from each group delivered powerful speeches addressing China’s oppressive regime. Among the speakers, Palden Tsering from the Tibetan community highlighted the long history of China’s oppression and condemned the Chinese government’s totalitarian practices. Throughout the rally, participants chanted slogans calling for justice and freedom.

The event concluded with a symbolic act of resistance: the destruction of a model tank made from cardboard boxes, representing the defiance against oppressive forces.
