Tibetan Parliamentary Delegation Engages French Leaders on Tibet’s Human Rights and Promotes Tibet in Paris

On the 22 October 2024, a delegation consisting of Tibetan Parliament members Geshe Ngaba Gangri, Tsering Yangchen, Tenzin Jigdal, and Thupten Gyatso held a meeting with François Vauglin, the Mayor of the 11th arrondissement of Paris.

During the meeting, discussions were held about the democratic process of the Central Tibetan Administration, the critical situation inside Tibet, and various issues concerning Tibetans residing in France. The Mayor responded positively to the matters raised.

Later, they met with Simon Leplatre, a journalist from the French daily newspaper Le Monde, and responded to his questions.

In the afternoon, they met with Anne Savinel-Barras, President of Amnesty International Paris, and Director Sylvie Brigot, discussing Tibetan political prisoners and human rights issues.

Subsequently, they met with Elsa Josephe, Vice President of the Parliamentary Group for Tibet in the French Senate, and its Secretary, engaging in extensive discussions about Tibetan issues before joining them for dinner.
